The little things they tell us become the big things they don’t
Sometimes our kids just want to tell us about a silly dream, a bug they saw, or what someone said at school, and it can be easy to tune it out when we’re busy, tired, or overwhelmed. But those little moments are everything to them. When we listen with genuine interest, we’re showing them that their thoughts matter, that they matter.
Because one day, they’ll have bigger things to say, things that really need to be heard, and they’ll remember how it felt when we listened the first time. Every story, every question, every random detail… it’s all big stuff to them.
